This project examines two questions related to resources exploitation between South Africa and Norway: Electricity market law and mining/mineral law.
Daniel Arnesson examines in his PhD project the development of renewable energy certificate (REC) markets in South Africa, India and Europe, with a focus on the implementation of these markets in Sweden and Norway (known as Guarantees of Origin and electricity Certificate markets in the two Nordic countries).
Sustainable Market Actors is a global research network involving scholars from universities all over the world, wishing to contribute to research that will promote global sustainable development within a sustainable circular economy compatible with the planetary boundaries and in line with the international development goals.
The project examines the regulatory development of energy certificate markets in India and Europe, with a focus on the implementation of these markets in Sweden and Norway.
This project will focus upon sustainable tax governance in developing countries as a means of increasing their tax revenue and prevent capital flight in particular to tax havens. The project will be carried out by seven partner institutions (see frame).
The Research Group Companies, Markets and Sustainability (the Company Law Group) is the Faculty of Law’s forum for research on companies and markets. The Company Law Group contributes to research and development of law in our areas at the national, European and international level. Our perspectives encompass the law relevant for companies as business entities and as objects of public policy. Our aim is a deeper understanding of the law and its role in shaping markets and companies and their interaction with economic, social and environmental sustainability.
