Why should legal scholars use empirical material? Why should social scientists engage with law? In response to these overarching questions, the presentations cover diverse fields such as historical analysis of company law, non-financial reporting, hedge-fund activism, corporate mobility in the EU, analysis of articles of association and a thorough discussion of the Norwegian gender quota rules for corporate boards.

The workshop offers insights into an area that may still be terra incognita for many legal scholars, but which has become ever more topical.

The workshop is open for all, from experienced scholars interested in these samples of the combination of company law and empirical studies to students planning their master theses.
