2: Sub-national constitutions in federal and quasi-federal constitutional states

The chairs of workshop 2 encourage the submission of paper proposals on any facet of subnational constitutionalism in federal or quasi-federal states.

Preference will be given to papers that present a comparative analysis, but papers with a focus on a single country will certainly be considered.

Possible topics are, but are not limited to:

  • the impact of constitutional courts on subnational constitutionalism
  • symmetry and asymmetry in subnational constitutions and constituent powers
  • subnational constitutions in centrifugal federalism and
  • politics and procedures for subnational constitutional change.

We hope to accept a wide range of papers for presentation at the workshop.
