Background
Born in 1982. Master’s Degree in Law in 2007. PhD in 2016.
Kjørvens’ doctoral thesis deals with legal questions related to the mis-selling of investment products to consumers. The main research question is to what extent consumers can hold their financial institution liable for loss they have suffered after investing in complex and risky investment products. The specific content of the conduct of business rules under the MiFID are analyzed, as well as the interplay between these obligations and national rules on contract and tort law.
The thesis was published by Universitetsforlaget, Norwegian University Press, in 2017, titled “Ytelse av investeringstjenester til forbruker – verdipapirrettslige, kontraktsrettslige og erstatningsrettslige krav til atferd” (The (Mis)selling of Investment Products to Consumers).
