Cecilia Marcela Bailliet
Cecilia M. Bailliet is Professor and Director of the Masters Program in Public International Law. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has a combined J.D./M.A. (honours) degree from The George Washington University Law School & Elliott School of International Affairs (U.S.A). She received her Doctorate in law from the University of Oslo. Bailliet researches transnational and cross-disciplinary issues within international law including general public international law, human rights, refugee law, counter-terrorism, and peace.
She has served as consultant to national and international organizations, and her research has been the basis for the creation of guidelines in various institutions. She created the courses "Refugee and Asylum Law" and "The Right to Peace" and is in charge of the Masters Level course on "Public International Law" at the Law Faculty.

She is a Book Review editor at the Nordic Journal of International Law and was guest co-editor of the Special Edition in honour of Raoul Wallenberg and guest editor of the Special Edition on Children's Rights (in honour of Lucy Smith). Bailliet is an editor at Intl Law Grrls Blog.
Bailliet is also a member of the Advisory Board of Aarhus University's School of Business and Social Sciences. She is currently on the Steering Committee of "The Legitimate Roles of the Judiciary in the Global Order" research project, awarded Centre of Excellence Status, where she coordinates the pillar on International Criminal Law. She is also a Strategic Advisor for the GQUAL! Campaign to promote gender parity in international courts.
Bailliet was Deputy Director of the Department of Public & International Law from 2010-2013. At present she is a member of the Committee overseeing the Masters Program in Law (PMR) which reviews the quality of legal education.
