Christoffer C. Eriksen
Background
Christoffer C. Eriksen, was born in 1974, and holds independent degrees in law (cand. jur) and philosophy (cand. philol), both achieved in 2001. Christoffer wrote his doctoral thesis on how EU law affects possibilities to attain democratic ideals in Europe. The dissertation analyzed how EU rules on free movement of goods, persons, services and capital (the four freedoms) affects the possibility to include affected interests and experts when governments and their administration adopts decisions based on discretionary powers. In 2000/01 Christoffer was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School, Center for Law and Philosophy, and has later worked as an associate, senior associate and a senior lawyer in the law firm Wikborg, Rein & Co. He was admitted to the bar in 2003, and has assisted clients in the fields of International law, EU law, including the four freedoms, public procurement, state aid and competition law, as well as Norwegian constitutional and administrative law. Eriksen was a research fellow at the Department of Public and International Law from 2004 to 2008. Eriksen took up a position as a post doc at the department in November 2010 with a research project on law as an instrument for governing economies and markets.
