Mats Jonatan Iversen Stenmark
Mats Iversen Stenmark holds a master's degree in law (cand.jur.) from the University of Oslo 2005, where he also at the same time worked as a research assistant at the Department of Public and International Law. He has previous experience as a deputy judge in district court, clerk and temporarily appointed judge of the Court of Appeal, and as a lawyer.
Mats´ research area is the Norwegian penal code against corruption. Norway enacted new provisions (penal code sections 276a, 276b and 276c) on corruption and trading in influence as of 4 July 2003. These provisions are regarded as among the strictest in the world.
The research also involves international and regional anti-corruption initiatives, as well as corruption laws of other jurisdictions (e.g. the FCPA and UK Bribery Act).
