Schmölzer holds a law degree from the University of Graz (Austria). In addition, she has a diploma in European Studies from Sciences Po Strasbourg (France) and a master in International Relations/ Conflict Management from Sciences Po Strasbourg/Lille (France).
Her master thesis in law has the title "Specialised bodies to combat racism and racial discrimination: Implementation of European standards in selected states". In this comparative study, she analyses the EU and international law standards relating to individuals’ access to equality bodies, and the implementation of these standards in Norway, Austria and Serbia.
Schmölzer has worked for the Constitutional Justice Division of the Council of Europe’s Venice Commission, where she dealt with individual access to constitutional justice, as well as religious freedom and social rights. In 2009-2010, she worked for the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) of the Council of Europe.
She has been at PluriCourts since 2013.
