Administrative law

Administrative law deals with the activities of public bodies, excluding legislative bodies (which are placed under constitutional law) and judicial bodies (criminal law and criminal procedure).

Overview of the subject area

Administrative law in this context means the study of the rules that are applicable throughout the whole or the main part of public administration (general administrative law).

There are a number of specialized areas within administrative law, such as taxation law, social security law, healthcare law, and social protection law, but these are most often regarded as separate research areas.
