(1) The arbitrators shall hear the parties and investigate the facts of the case before making their award. The procedure shall be determined by the arbitrators in their discretion unless the parties have agreed otherwise in the arbitration agreement or in a subsequent written agreement.
(2) If a party refuses to attend the hearing before the arbitrators, the hearing shall continue in the presence of the other party.
