March, 1990 RA visited Professor Clive M. Schmitthoff. A memento of this visit is the the dedication of this site to him.

1993  

June 22, 1993 The Law Faculty of the University of Troms? (IRV) gave the go ahead for a two year pilot project on International Trade Law on Internet as an adjunct to a study of the subject offered there. Ralph Amissah is extremely grateful to IRV and others who have supported this project in various ways.

October 1993 The Trade Law Home Page was opened together with the list of conventions and first texts of a number of private international law trade conventions including the United Nations Convention on the Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The presentation of all of this has since been changed considerably - a feel for the original presentation may be obtained by looking at the less changed Norwegian Pages. The subject and potential audience lend themselves very strongly to use of the English language, which we have since concentrated on. We are also in touch around this time with the International Chamber of Commerce.
