Higher education and employment history

Irina Fodchenko has complete higher Norwegian and Russian legal education.

She was a research assistant at the Department of Petroleum Law, UiO where she wrote her master's thesis "Foreign participation in oil and gas activity on the continental shelf of the Russian Federation — the comparative and legal analysis with the Norwegian system of licensing, MarIus 2009 ". Till 2010 she worked on research projects in the field of the Russian and Norwegian law by orders of Research Council of Norway and the Fridtjof Nansen Institute, was the trainee in the Norwegian lawyer firms and legal department of Statoil ASA.

Fodchenko was appointed as a research fellow at the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law in 2010. She writes a PhD thesis on Russian and Norwegian petroleum law. She was a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge, Saint Petersburg State University and the Norwegian University Center in St. Petersburg.
