Mona Keiko Løken (born 1980) graduated from the University of Oslo in spring 2006 with a master’s degree in law. She spent her final semester taking part in the exchange program between Oslo and the University of North Dakota Law School. There she followed courses in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Natural Resources Law, Conflict of Laws, and Introduction to US Law and Legal Systems. Mona has also studied Japanese language at Soka University in Tokyo (year 2000-2001).
After graduation, she has worked as a legal adviser in the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Justice. She has also worked as a deputy judge in the National Court of Public Insurance. Mona has served as a secretary and an independent member of two different law commissions proposing new legislation regarding forced treatment in mental health care (published as NOU 2011: 9) and rights for persons with intellectual disabilities (NOU 2016: 17).
From February 2017 she is working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law.
