Discussion on Norway's New Model BIT
Informative discussion between the civil society and academica on the possible challenges of Norway's New Model BIT.
The Norwegian government’s political platform states that the government will increase the use of bilateral investment agreements (also referred to as bilateral investment treaties, BITs), where appropriate. Norway has not concluded any BITs since the mid-1990s, and a new mandate for future negotiations is therefore required. A draft of a new Norwegian model agreement for the promotion and protection of investments (investment agreements) has now been suggested.
