Human Rights Monitoring
Norway has obliged itself to respect the human rights as they are set down in international conventions. The most central is the UN, the Council of Europe and ILO's human rights conventions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides overviews with links to convention texts, ratifications, reservations, Norway's reporting to monitoring bodies, the monitoring bodies' recommendations to Norway, as well as individual communications against Norway.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has information concerning the UN Treaty Bodies, composition, working methods, reporting and calendar of meetings, see Human Rights Bodies: Mechanisms for the protection and promotion of human rights.
