Two long term observers have been sent to observe the presidential elections in Ukraine on 17 January. The observers are part of the OSCE's election observation mission and will be joined by four Norwegian short term observers.

One long term election observer has been sent through NORDEM to monitor the parliamentary elections in Lebanon on 7 June. The observer is part of the EU's Election Observation Mission in Lebanon and will be joined by two Norwegian short term observers shortly before election day.

Four short term observers have been sent through NORDEM to monitor the presidential and legislative election in Equador on 26  April. The observers are part of the EU's election observation mission.

One long term election observer has been sent through NORDEM to monitor the presidential and parliamentary elections in Malawi on 19 May. The observer is part of the EU's Election Observation Mission in Malawi and will be joined by two Norwegian short term observers shortly before election day.

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is seeking a qualified Norwegian national for the volunteer position UNV Program Officer.

A long term election observer has been sent through NORDEM to observe the parliamentary elections in Moldova on 5 April. The observer is part of the election observation mission of the OSCE and will be joined by a Norwegian short term observer shortly before the election day.

A long term election observer has been sent through NORDEM to observe the presidential and municipal elections in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia on 22 March. The observer is part of the election observation mission of the OSCE and will be joined by three Norwegian short term observers shortly before the election day.

NORDEM will arrange a course in election observation 3-5 June and a course in democratisation and human rights related field work 31 August - 4 September. Both courses are primarily intended for members of the NORDEM roster.
