Experiences as UN Special Rapporteur: Reflections by Asma Jahangir

The Oslo Coalition on Freedom of Religion or Belief has the pleasure of inviting you to an open lecture with Asma Jahangir, a leading Pakistani lawyer and human rights activist.

Asma Jahangir was the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief from August 2004 to July 2010.

Previously, she served as the UN Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial, Arbitrary and Summary Executions (1998-2004).
 
In late June this year, Jahangir was appointed advisor to the team set up to conduct a comprehensive investigation of alleged human rights violations in Sri Lanka that was mandated by the UN Human Rights Council.
 
Asma Jahangir will share her experiences as a UN Special Rapporteur and from working with human rights in the field.

Practical Information

The lecture will be in English and open for everyone. Coffee and tea will be served.
