The workshop will enable the sharing of work and discussion of key issues in research and operationalization, the meeting will explore the possibility of establishing a loose network on the subject. Such a network could serve as a space for future meetings, sharing of ideas and a forum for debating methodological issues to push the frontiers of this work. The event is being coordinated by the New School and University of Oslo in collaboration with UNICEF and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Are the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and human rights complementary or conflicting? What are the consequences for the road to 2015 and beyond? Leading scholars and practitioners came together at Harvard on 22-23 March to discuss.
With a major UN mid-term review of MDG progress in 2010 and the recently announced Demand Dignity Campaign by Amnesty, a seminar will be hosted to examine how human rights and politics can be effectively incorporated in efforts to reduce maternal mortality and expand access to emergency obstetric care and reproductive health services. The seminar is hosted by University of Oslo (LEVE and SERP) and Amnesty International.

After a decade long war, Nepal is subsumed in a process of transitional justice and constitutional reform according to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, which seeks to address a wide range of human rights. Dr Bhattari will provide an overview of the transitional justice process, the process for constitutional reform and the role of courts.

An international symposium was held in Berlin from the afternoon of Monday 19 October 2009 to the afternoon of Tuesday 20 October. It will be hosted by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights in association with the UN Committee of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
On the 24. September. 2009 the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Plan Norway and the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (SERP) hosted an international conference on the economic rights of the girl child. The conference focused on the economic rights of girls, particularly the right to inheritance and land/property, in order to strengthen the commitment to place girls' economic rights on the international agenda.
