Research Interests

Domenico's project explores the relationship between UN Human Rights Treaty Bodies and National Human Rights Institutions, two integrating components of the complex "transmission belt" between the international and domestic systems of human rights law protection. The purpose behind his research is to develop a model for increasing the effectiveness of UN Human Rights Treaties by means of standardized Treaty Body-National Human Rights Institutions interaction processes.

As of January 2017, the research project will be brought forward at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights (Geneva, Switzerland), where Domenico is Visiting Researcher and part of the Academic Platform on Treaty Body Review 2020 (https://www.geneva-academy.ch/our-projects/our-projects/un-human-rights-mechanisms/detail/16[)
