The project aims at establishing and developing joint educational activities and student mobility within European law, Human Rights and International Law between the Law faculties of the Universities of Oslo (Norway) and National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Ukraine).

Professor Emeritus George C. Christie is visiting PluriCourts as a Fulbright’s Scholar. He joined PluriCourts in September 2016, and will stay until March 2017.
The Centre of Excellence for International Courts (iCourts) and PluriCourts are hosting a high-level summer school for PhD students working on international law and with a special interest in interdisciplinary studies of international law and its social and political context.

Two of NCHR’s doctoral researchers, Elsabe Boshoff and Dinie Arief, presented their doctoral projects in this year’s Human Rights Interdisciplinary PhD Triangle Gathering. It was hosted virtually by the University of Essex on 26-27 April.

The seminar will address the role which domestic human rights actors play towards the UN Human Rights Treaty Body Review 2020 benchmark. Interviewing is a core task in law enforcement and how the police conduct interviews has a profound impact on the outcome and fairness of the subsequent criminal proceedings. This seminar will discuss the applicability of investigative interviewing in counter-terrorism efforts, discuss how it can serve as a remedy against ill-treatment, and illustrate the psychology behind this approach.
