The global rankings are dominated by universities from the United States and the United Kingdom. The University of Oslo is ranked highest among the Nordic institutions, with Lund University in 41st place and the University of Copenhagen in 50th.

“This is wonderful recognition of the faculty's leading position among law schools in the Nordic region and internationally”, Dean Marianne Jenum Hotvedt of the Faculty of Law comments on the ranking.

Strong in research

The faculty achieved its strongest result in the “Research environment” category, which is based on research volume, funding and reputation. Based on these parameters alone, the faculty is ranked 21st in the world.

“The ranking shows that we stand out particularly in research, in terms of scale, quality, and reputation,” says Jenum Hotvedt.
