Soft law vs. a binding instrument: A pragmatic approach to corporate accountability for breaches of human rights Law.

Presentation by Ludovica Chiussi. She is a PhD Candidate at Norwegian Centre for Human Rights.

This event is open for everyone, including students.

The long and arduous process of negotiating a binding treaty on corporation and human rights has just begun. In the meantime soft law - together with a flourishing  battery of corporate based codes of conduct - might be contributing to the formation of a new customary rule. Against the background of an increasing "porosity" between the private and the public sector, the aim of this PhD project is to explore the most feasible options to enhance corporate accountability for breaches of human rights law.
