Daughters of Themis: International Network of Women Business Scholars

The purpose of Daughters of Themis is to bring together and foster a community of scholars who identify as women business scholars. Members are drawn from all areas of scholarship pertaining to business, including law, economics, management and administration, political science, sociology and natural sciences. Daughters of Themis offers a forum for open and inspiring discussions about women business scholars’ common area of interest, facilitating sharing and mutual support for all its members throughout their academic careers and lives.

The name of the network, Daughters of Themis: International Network of Women Business Scholars, is inspired by Themis, the Greek goddess of justice.

Daughters of Themis organises annual workshops for its members, which are usually held in a harmonious venue in Greece, conducive to in-depth academic discussions and good conversations. A call for papers is issued in the fall for the workshop in the early summer of the following year.

Woman business scholars wishing to join Daughters of Themis may apply online. We have an open LinkedIn page, where you can follow us for updates and share our posts so that we can reach potential new members all over the world. We also have a closed LinkedIn group, and a closed Facebook group, Daughters of Themis: International Network of Women Business Scholars, to which you can ask to be added.

Daughters of Themis is coordinated by Beate Sjåfjell, with the Support of the Steering Committee, elected for a year at the Daughters of Themis Annual Network Meeting.
