About the presentation

In this presentation Heidi Rapp Nilsen, Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), will lay out how interdisciplinarity is practiced at NTNU in both education and research.

First and foremost, in NTNU’s compulsory master course ‘Experts in Teamwork’, students develop collaboration skills to unlock the potential that lies in interdisciplinary differences. Furthermore, in NTNU's interdisciplinary research groups, there is a demand for facilitation and time dedicated to explore and learn across institutional barriers, and so we are now launching a new course to accommodate this. Our research shows that these barriers need to be addressed specifically, from policy level at the top, and down to the early career researcher.
