A close look at CAS, the highest court of arbitration in the sports world

This is a seminar on the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) featuring the experienced CAS judge Christoph Vedder as the keynote speaker.

Professor Christoph Vedder’s keynote speech is titled: "The Court of Arbitration for Sport: The centrepiece of legal remedies in international sports". 

Attorney Anne-Lise Rolland will present prepared commentary.

Christoph Vedder has previously served as Chairman of the Arbitration Panel of the International Athletics Federation (IAAF), and he is head of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Anti-Doping Hearing Panel. He also chaired the two CAS panels that exonerated 28 Russian athletes from doping charges earlier in 2018.

Anne-Lise Rolland has long been the Norwegian Ski Federation’s attorney at law. She also litigated the Johnsrud Sundby case before CAS.

The seminar is a follow-up of the seminar in January on anti-doping rules in sports in an interdisciplinary perspective.

The seminar will be chaired by  Professor Trond Solvangand will be held in English.
