Trude Myklebust

Background
Trude Myklebust completed her Master’s degree in Law at the University of Oslo in 1993. She worked with financial market regulation in the Financial Market Department of the Norwegian Ministry of Finance from 1993 until 2003. Later she worked in the Asset Management Department in the MoF from 2007 until the end of 2011. The Asset Management Department is responsible for the investment strategy and follow-up of the Norwegian Government Pension Fund, including the strategies for responsible investment. She has also worked in the judicial system, as a deputy judge and as adviser to the Director General for the Norwegian Supreme Court. She completed a MSc (res) from Oxford University in 2012 at the School of Geography and Environment and is the author of a text book; Introduction to Financial Market Regulation, which is part of the curriculum at various educational institutions.
Teaching
Trude Myklebust teaches the course Financial Market Regulation.
Ongoing work
PhD thesis: "Fair and orderly trading? An analysis of the European regulation of High Frequency Trading"
She is a member of the Council on Ethics for the Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global, the Norwegian Commission on Climate Risk and the Norwegian economy, and the Steering Committee of the PRI Academic Network.
Research Interests
Regulation of the financial system - especially questions relating to systemic risk and the safeguarding of public interest. How regulation shapes financial markets. The societal impact of activities in the financial markets and questions about democracy and legitimacy. The field of responsible investment and sustainable financial markets.
