Bakgrunn

Eléonore Maitre-Ekern, Dr. juris, er postdoktor ved Institutt for privatrett, Universitetet i Oslo. Hun jobber for tiden som en del av prosjektet ‘Futuring Nordic Sustainable Business Models’ (Futuring Nordics). Hun er også involvert i en UiO: Energy Thematic Research Groups (TRG), med tittelen 'Circular Energy for a Sustainable Circular Economy: Exploring design, maintenance, and repair as energy Conservation Strategies' (Circular Energy), som skal lanseres i januar 2021.

Hennes postdoktor forskning har som mål å utforske bærekraften i sirkulær økonomi og å utvikle politikk og juridiske rammer for å muliggjøre og fremme bærekraftige sirkulære forretningsmodeller i Norden. En av hovedmodellene som forskningen vil fokusere på er vedlikehold og reparasjon.

Før hun startet sin postdoktorstilling, var Eléonore med i SMART-prosjektet og utviklet reformforslag for sirkulær økonomi som ble presentert for EU-kommisjonen som en del av den siste SMART-konferansen i Brussel i februar 2020.

Eléonores doktorgradsforskning, som hun gjennomførte ved Institutt for offentlig og internasjonal rett, Universitetet i Oslo, utforsket grunnlaget for et juridisk rammeverk for sirkulær økonomi som kan garantere en bærekraftig fremtid for menneskeheten; en der produkter bidrar til sosial og økonomisk velstand uten å true de ni planetgrensene som danner det trygge rommet menneskeheten kan blomstre i. Oppgaven har tittelen ‘Mot en sirkulær økonomi for produkter: En juridisk analyse av Europas politikk og regelverk fra et økologisk perspektiv’. Hun forsvarte sin doktorgradsavhandling 1. november 2019.
