International Law Lunch: Dignity's peremptory force and its role in the legitimization of international law

In international and domestic jurisprudence, courts rely on dignity to limit debate and to decide cases. In this talk, Dina Townsend looks at the function of dignity in judicial reasoning, and suggests that dignity's peremptory force  plays a critical role in the legitimization of international law.
