The Legitimacy of International Courts and Tribunals

The authors' workshop addresses several of the central philosophical issues and  offer alternative frames to orient further legal and empirical research required to assess the legitimacy of ICTs: individual courts or tribunals and the global judiciary as a whole.

Central topics include

  1. Conceptual issues;
  2. Transposition of domestic constitutional values concerning origins, function and effects;
  3. Objections from political theory.
