UN Treaty Bodies and their Implications for Norwegian Law
This year's Ryssdal seminar focuses on UN Treaty bodies on human rights and their implications to Norwegian law. At the seminar we will look at the treaty bodies' activites from various perspectives, including perspectives from the Norwegian courts, public administration and lawyers.
The annual Ryssdal seminars are organized to honour Rolv Ryssdal (1914-1988). Ryssdal was a pioneer in Norwegian and International law, first as Chief justice of the Supreme court, and later as head of the European court of human rights (ECtHR). The seminars are primarily aimed at Norwegian judges, but other participants are also welcome.
- Kirsten Sandberg, University of Oslo, UN Commitee on the rights of the child
- Fredrik Sejersted, Attorney General
- Aage Thor Falkanger, The Parliamentary Ombudsman
The seminar will be in Norwegian.
