New guest researcher: Julian Dederke
Julian Dederke is visiting PluriCourts in April and May.
Julian Dederke is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Center for Comparative and International Studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich).
In his dissertation, he focuses on media attention for judgments of the Court of Justice of the EU as well as the public communication activities of the Court. The project makes use of empirical data on newspaper coverage of more than 4,300 CJEU decisions in European newspapers, including Austrian, British, Danish, German, French, Irish, Italian, Polish and a Swedish newspaper.
With empirical data on newspaper coverage, CJEU press releases and Twitter data, Julian addresses questions on the salience and public perception of CJEU decisions in the media and strategic legitimation efforts of the Court.
