PluriCourts welcomes new Fulbright scholar - Hannah Garry

Professor of Law Hannah Garry will spend 6 months at PluriCourts as a Fulbright scholar starting January 1, 2022. Professor Garry comes to PluriCourts from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.

During her time in Oslo, Garry will research enforcement of international refugee law, looking into different options for refugees facing states that either violate their right to seek asylum or are severely mistreated throughout the asylum application process.

Today, there are no enforcement tools available to asylum seekers under international law. While at PluriCourts, Professor Garry will study enforcement mechanisms used for other areas of international law and work towards a proposal for an enforcement mechanism under international refugee law.

For more information about Professor Garry’s work and motivation, see the recently published interview on the USC webpage (external webpage).
