Judicial Engagement in International Trade and Investment

Book project by PluriCourts Post-doctoral fellow Michelle Q. Zang.

This project focuses on judicial dialogue among international economic tribunals, namely, domestic, regional, multilateral trade courts and investor-State investment arbitrations. The objective is two-fold.

First, the book aims to delineate the overall picture of judicial dialogue in international trade and investment, identifying the format and approach used in the jurisprudence and assessing the existing communicative activities in trade and investment dispute settlement.

Second, it seeks for an apposite dialogue model among economic tribunals with the purpose of using such a model a) to deal with certain legitimacy deficits of the tribunals concerned; and b) to promote coherent yet dynamic and sustainable judicial governance of economic matters.
