The NCHR and the East Lake Institute for Social Advancement (EISA) is organising an online writing course about the intersectionality of disability, sexual orientation and gender identities (SOGI). Representatives from NGOs working on disability issues or SOGI issues are eligible to apply.

Vi nærmer oss slutten av Pride-måneden. Pride er en tid for feiring, men siden begynnelsen har det også vært en rettighetskamp. Det er det fortsatt i dag. Selv om vi har sett en fremgang i LHBTIQ-personers rettigheter siden Stonewall-opprørene for over 50 år siden, er det fortsatt en lang vei å gå – både internasjonalt, og i Norge.

The NCHR and the East Lake Institute for Social Advancement (EISA) is organising a 5 week training series on disability, sexual orientation and gender identities (SOGI) for representatives from Asian disability organisations. Last week, activist Ingrid Thunem shared her experiences from working with disability and SOGI rights issues in Norway with the participants.

Particular focus will be on discrimination of people with disabilities and issues surrounding sexual orientation and gender identities (SOGI).

En ny kinesisk lærebok om kjønn og menneskerettigheter er utgitt i Kina. Boken er den første av sitt slag og er skrevet av en gruppe kinesiske forskere og sivilsamfunnsrepresentanter med god kjennskap til likestilling og menneskerettighetsspørsmål.

A new textbook on gender and human rights issues was recently published in China. The book is the first of its kind and was written by a group of Chinese researchers and civil society representatives with special knowledge about gender equality and human rights issues.

25 Asian academics and NGO representatives working on disability, gender and SOGI issues met in Kathmandu, Nepal 20-22 March to discuss a book project on disability, sexuality and gender in Asia.

The project promotes freedom of religion or belief in Orthodox Christian societies. Through internal Orthodox debate, it stimulates innovative reflections on the relation between Church and human rights. Several important fields of contemporary challenges have received limited theological and ecclesiastical attention. Encouraging dialogue in such fields, the project seeks to widen the scope of conversation.
