Supported by the Norwegian Center for Human Rights (NCHR) at the University of Oslo, this book project was initiated by the ASEAN University Network-Human Rights Education (AUN-HRE), Southeast Asian Conflict Studies Network (SEACSN) and the Program on Strengthening Human Rights and Peace Education and Research in Southeast Asia (SHAPE-SEA). It intends to provide an introductory textbook for students studying human rights, peace and conflict in the region. It is also a source book for scholars, practitioners, educators, government officials, and other stakeholders.
The book looks at the basic ideas, theories, approaches and frameworks to peace and conflict transformation, using examples and case studies from around the region. Edited by Professor Kamarulzaman Askandar from Universiti Sains Malaysia, this volume has contributions from distinguished scholars and experts familiar with the fields of human rights, peace and conflict transformation and the regional context in Southeast Asia.
