Scholarships for master studies

NCHR offers scholarships to two Indonesian students for studying at the inter-diciplinary Master Programme The Theory and Practice of Human Rights. The scholarships are intended to cover all living costs for two years. It is now possible to apply for the study period that starts mid-2016.

In order to apply for the scholarship, please send an e-mail to, containing the following information:

1) documentation of completion of secondary education

2) Final bachelor's degree certificate. (and certificates for any other academic degrees you may hold)

3) Transcript of records for your bachelor's degree.

At least one and a half years (90 ECTS-credits) of your bachelor's studies must be in law, a social science (i.e., political science, anthropology or sociology), philosophy, history or a different field that is relevant for the study of human rights. A combination of these subjects is also possible.

2) proof of English Language proficiency. The following Language tests are acknowledged:

IELTS academic - International English Language Testing System.

  • Minimum overall band score: 6.5

TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language, internet-based test (iBT)

  • Minimum total score: 90

PTE Academic - Pearson Test of English Academic

  • Minimum overall score: 62

3) CV

4) A motivation letter of maximum one page, stating why you are applying for this programme.

The deadline for applying is November 15. If it is impossible to get the required documents in time, contact the NCHR Indonesia programme about possibilities for sending these documents later.
