From 1-5 March 2015, NORDEM, together with a delegation from the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, conducted a field visit to Ukraine where NORDEM personnel have been on the ground since the establishment of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMMU) in March 2014.
OSCE/ODIHR is observing the presidential election in Uzbekistan, which will be held on 29 March. NORDEM has sent one long-term observer to this mission.
Chuyen Nguyen Duc and Nga Hong Nguyen graduated from the Master Programme in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights in 2013 and 2014, respectively. They both received a scholarship from the Vietnam Programme which is provided to promising Vietnamese students.
Chuyen and Nga have now returned to Vietnam, and share some reflections from their studies in Norway.

An collection of essays on Islam and Human Rights was published in December 2014, based on selected contributions to the conference 'Islam and Human Rights - theories and prcatices in contemporary Indonesia', which was held in Yogyakarta in 2012.
NORDEM Thematic Paper Series provides an outlet for NORDEM secondees to discuss current practices within areas of their expertise.
The first issue is written by NORDEM secondee Torbjørn Bjorvatn and revolves around field work experiences from working with the economic and environmental dimension in OSCE in Tajikistan.

On 12-14 January 2015, a group of 20 Vietnamese NGOs organised a workshop in Hanoi on the ASEAN Human Rights Declaration and implementation mechanisms. The workshop was supported by the Vietnam Programme at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights.
