Election Observation Missions

NORDEM deploys about 60 - 100 election observers and experts per year, to approximately 20 missions.

Ongoing missions

  • Two short term observers will be sent to the parliamentary and presidential elections in Ghana on 7 December (EU)
  • One long term observer and three short term observers will be sent to the parliamentary elections in Macedonia on 11 December (ODIHR)

Completed missions in 2016

  • Two long term and five short term observers were sent to the presidential elections in Moldova on 30 October. Two long term and four short term observers were sent to the second round on 13 November (ODIHR)
  • Two long term observers and four short term observers were sent to the parliamentary elections in Georgia on 8 October. One long term observer and two short term observers were sent to the second round (ODIHR)
  • One long term and one short term observer were sent to the general elections in Jordan on 20 September (EU)
  • Three long term and five short term observers were sent to the parliamentary elections in Russia on 18 September (ODIHR)
  • Two long term and four short term observers were sent to the parliamentary elections in Belarus on 11 September (ODIHR)
  • One long term and two short term observers were sent to the general elections in Zambia on 11 August (EU)
  • Two long term and five short term observers were sent to the parliamentary elections in Mongolia on 29 June (ODIHR)
  • One long term observer was sent to the early parliamentary elections in Macedonia (postponed) (ODIHR)
  • One long term observer was sent to the Presidential elections in Peru on 10 April and on 5 June (EU)
  • One long term and two short term observers were sent to the presidential elections in Uganda on 18 February and 18 March (EU)
