NORDEM observers to two missions in Kenya
NORDEM sent observers to both the EU and the Carter Center for the general elections in Kenya on 4 March.
Bård Anders Andreassen, Kenya expert and researcher at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, observed the elections as a member of the EU mission. In its preliminary statement, the EU concluded that "Kenya’s General Elections were characterised by a huge society-wide push for peaceful, transparent and credible elections." Andreassen has also previously observed elections in Kenya through NORDEM and co-authored a report about the 2007 elections.
