OSCE/ODIHR has deployed a Limited Election Observation Mission (LEOM) to observe Turkey’s parliamentary elections scheduled for 7 June. NORDEM has sent two experienced long-term observers to this mission.

Observers will follow candidate registration, campaign activities, the work of the election administration and relevant state bodies, implementation of the legislative framework, and the resolution of election disputes. The LEOM will also conduct a comprehensive monitoring of the media. As this is a LEOM, no short-term observers will be deployed to observe Election Day procedures.

A statement of preliminary findings and conclusions will be issued at a press conference the day after the election. A final report on the entire electoral process will be issued approximately eight weeks after the end of the mission.

The LEOM is based on the findings and conclusions of an OSCE/ODIHR Needs Assessment Mission. You can read the report here.
