Following an official invitation, the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) concluded in their Needs Assessment Report that observation would be recommended for the upcoming early parliamentary elections in Mongolia.

OSCE/ODIHR has established an EOM to Mongolia to observe the 2016 Parliamentary Elections.

14 long-term observers will arrive in UlaanBataar this week. They will be deployed all around the country to observe the preparations for the elections and the procedures on election day. The long-terms observers wil be joined by around 300 short term observers closer to election day.

The observations will result in a preliminary statement which will be published shortly after the elections and followed later by a more detailed report with a list of recommendations.
