How to maintain your membership in NORDEM

As a member of NORDEM you must ensure that NORDEM has updated information about you. If you fail to provide the following documents or information your chances of being selected for an assignment decrease and your membership will eventually be terminated:

  • A completed letter of intent for each calender year or each time you change jobs. We also need you to sign the letter if you do not have an employer or if you wish to be inactive in NORDEM for a certain period. Remember to state which kind of assignment you are available for.

  • An updated CV in English (any format) every time you complete an assignment or change jobs.

  • Updated contact information whenever you move or change phone numbers.

  • A notice if you are not available for assignments for a period exceeding six months.

  • A copy of your passport (ID pages) and an elecronic passport photo. The passport must at all times be valid for at least six months.

  • Certificates of UN’s two online security courses, Basic Security in the Field and Advanced Security in the Field. The courses must be refreshed after three years. You are recommended to use a computer with Windows XP or a later version and Internet Explorer version 6 or a later version. If you are unable to access the courses due to technical reasons you may contact us and request a CD version of the courses.
