Turning the SDGs and Human Rights into Reality

In 2020-2021, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute, the Norwegian Center for Human Rights, Åland Islands Peace Institute, and Galaxy Fund have carried out a project on "SDG and human rights localization". The project examines how local authorities and civil society organizations can cooperate in human rights localization processes, where local and subnational contexts are included and considered when implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.

The study of the NCHR analyses experiences of Norway’s efforts to implement the SDGs and human rights at the local government level in order to show both the challenges but also some partial successes in implementation. It uses case studies from Oslo, Lund, St. Petersburg and Åland Islands.
