This seminar will seek to address some of the existing challenges for space law in the Norwegian, European and international perspective. We also wish to lay a foundation for future discussions of space law issues at the University of Oslo. Our speakers are Terje Wahl (Norwegian Space Center), Steven Freeland (Western Sydney University Law School), Alla Pozdnakova (Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law), Katrin Nyman Metcalf (International Relations Committee of the European Space Agency), Alexander Soucek (European Space Agency), Kirsten Ullbæk Selvig (Ministry of Transport, Norway) and Mari Amanda Eldholm (European Centre for Space Law).

Vi retter søkelyset mot dagsaktuell og historisk oppfatning av hva som er, og som bør være menneskers fundamentale rettigheter.  Menneskerettighetsarbeid i Norge og internasjonalt vil stå i fokus sammen med tema for UiOs menneskerettighetspris, som i år er tortur og rehabilitering av torturofre.

Programkomiteen har bestått av Ragnhild Helene Hennum, Hanne Hagtvedt Vik, Nora Sveaass og Gentian Zyberi.

Dette gjelder både akademikere, beslutningstagere og praktikere. Deltagerne på barnerettighetsdagen skal få et enda mer bevisst forhold til barnekonvensjonen, slik at de i sitt arbeid kan gjøre en forskjell for barn og unge.

The seminar will address the role which domestic human rights actors play towards the UN Human Rights Treaty Body Review 2020 benchmark. Ministerial representatives, independent state institutions (National Human Rights Institutions and Ombudspersons) and civil society organizations have been invited to Oslo to share their experiences and discuss how to build a more effective UN Human Rights Treaty Body System for all stakeholders.
