Luca Tosoni is a Doctoral Research Fellow in Cybercrime and Cybersecurity Law at the Norwegian Research Center for Computers and Law (NRCCL), Department of Private Law, University of Oslo.

Background

Prior to his doctoral studies, he practiced law in an international law firm in Brussels (Covington & Burling LLP) where, inter alia, he provided legal advice to multinational companies and trade associations on regulatory matters concerning cybersecurity, data protection and life sciences. He also acted as counsel and adviser in cases before the EU Courts in Luxembourg. Prior to employment at Covington & Burling LLP, he was Assistant Policy Officer at the Fair Trade Advocacy Office, in Brussels, and Visiting Researcher at UC Berkeley School of Law.

A fully qualified lawyer in Italy and Belgium, he holds a combined J.D./LL.M. (magna cum laude) from the University of Milan, with a specialization in EU and International Law. He also holds a Diplôme d'Université in Common Law and Comparative Law (with honors) from the Paris Descartes University (Paris V), and was awarded the China Intellectual Property Summer Institute (CHIPSI) Certificate by Tsinghua University School of Law.
