Auctions in theory and practice
In this seminar, Prof. Gideon Parchomovsky will present a paper about the use of auctions to allocate rights and access to natural resources, and to resolve decision-making problems when making public investments and allocating scarce resources. Furthermore, he will infer some normative guidelines for government auctions of e.g licenses to farm fish.

After the presentation of the paper, a government official will inform us about the auction protocol of the Norwegian state with regards to the rights to farm fish. Mads Bryde representing The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries will give the presentation.
There will be room for questions and discussion after the presentations.
