The event examines the network of interrelated regimes governing social rights in Europe including the European Convention of Human Rights, the EU, and the EEA. It discusses the interpretation of social security rights by European Courts. A second more operative part tackles practical case studies relating to the reduction and withdrawal of social benefits, the possibility to ‘export’ those benefits in an EEA State different from the State granting them.
