Background
My Rafstedt has an interdisciplinary background. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Oslo (2023), an MPhil in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford (2017), and a BA in Politics with International Relations from the University of York (2014).
Her doctoral dissertation explored the politics surrounding labour market deregulation and its gendered effects, with a focus on Spain. This work examined how gender inequality features in the mediatic debate about labour market deregulation, how party politics at the regional level attempt to mediate the effects of such deregulation, and how social partners approach gender equality policy. During her doctoral degree, Rafstedt was employed by the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs. She was also a visiting scholar at the University of Valencia (2019–20).
Rafstedt was a guest researcher at the Centre for Gender Research at the University of Oslo in 2023, where she convened the summer course Gender Equality in the Nordic Countries.
