Book Launch: The Research Handbook on International Law and Peace

UN Secretary General António Guterres observed that: “We are a world in pieces. We need to be a world at peace”.  UiO Professor Cecilia Bailliet created the first law course on the Right to Peace at UiO and is proud to present this unique publication which explains the status of Peace as a key aim of the UN Charter and deserves renewed attention by academics, policymakers and practioners.

The book analyzes how Sustainable Peace is promoted within different international and national institutions and regimes including human rights, trade, investment, environment, cyber, refugees, transitional justice, nuclear disarmament, sustainable development, and gender.

In celebration of the Oslo Peace Days, the Research Group on Human Rights, Armed Conflicts and the Law on Peace and Security, Faculty of Law/SMR, UiO and PRIO are proud to host a book launch of The Research Handbook on International Law and Peace. Including top law and social science scholars from UiO and PRIO, we invite practitioners, policymakers, students, scholars, and the general public to meet some of the contributors to this book.
