Guest lecture by Judge Allan Rosas; “Is the EU a Human Rights Organization?” 10 September 14.15- 16.00, Aud 14, Domus Bibliotecha

Judge Allan Rosas has a broad professional experience in international organizations. Rosas has coordinated several international and national research projects and programmes, and has served as a key adviser to Finnish delegations at the UN, UNESCO,OSCE, and the Counsil of Europe.

The research group Human Rights and Diversity at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights is honoured to receive Judge Allan Rosas, from the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). Judge Rosas will give a lecture entitled "Is the EU a Human Rights Organization?" followed by Q&A.

Rosas has served as a judge at the CJEU since 2002. Rosas earned his degree in law from the University of Turku, Finland, and has taught as Professor of Law at the Åbo Akademi University and University of Turku. At Åbo Akademi University he served as director of their Institute of Human Rights.

Judge Allan Rosas has a broad professional experience in international organizations. Rosas has coordinated several international and national research projects and programmes, and has served as a key adviser to Finnish delegations at the UN, UNESCO, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Council of Europe. He has published extensively in the fields of EU law, international law, humanitarian and human rights law, and constitutional law.

This lecture is open for all. Students and staff at the University of Oslo, Faculty of Law, are encouraged to attend.
